Introduction to Excel 2003

Microsoft Excel is a popular spreadsheet application of Microsoft Office package. It is very user friendly to use for managing database in office. There are some versions of MS-Excel. I will use MS-Excel 2003 here.The latest update is Microsoft Excel 2016.

Microsoft Office is not freeware. You have to pay for use this software. But it has a very user friendly interface.


Microsoft Excel 2003:

This is the main screen of MS-Excel 2003 as you see in below. In this image you can see Title bar, Menu bar, Tool bar, Row Number, Column Number etc. The Workbook is also known as Sheet.

You see the cursor here? Yes the shape is like a box. This box is called Cell and each cell has a unique name in a sheet. For example: currently the cursor selected the cell A1. In here, column number A and row number 1. Look the cell name is displayed on Name Box as A1.

You can see that, there are 9 important menus are displayed in Menu bar. Hopefully you will know how to work with MS-Excel with these menus from my tutorial. Later I'll start sharing my working experience with Microsoft Excel 2003 and later versions.

Value Paste and Formula Paste

In many case, in our professional life, we need to do Copy and Value Paste or Copy and Formula Paste in all most always. Those employees, who works under MIS Department, have to do it lots of time in a single day to prepare reports. It is very time costing task in Office.
