Microsoft Excel often stops working and shut down the program. In a day it becomes very common problem. I would like to explain here why and how we can fix it. From my personal experience I'm telling that, there are few reasons are involved to make this happen. These are:

While you use COM Add-Ins, there is a common chance to get an error while loading the Add-Ins. Some file may not load correctly, that is why this problem arises. Your Excel stopped working and shutting down.
To overcome from this problem you may try by uninstalling all COM Add-Ins. If all works nicely and you need to use a COM Add-Ins again, then try to reinstall your COM Add-Ins properly. And then try to reinstall your MS Office.

So try to set the default printer properly which you really have.

If your default printer is a Network Printer, and the Network Connection is not strong, then you might be face in this problem. So, check that your Printer is where.
(7) External Link:
As we know that, we can use external link to populate our Excel data. Even many times, I've seen that, many MIS Executives sends their reports by using a VLOOKUP() whose Lookup_array range is from another Excel File, which is in his PC. But he sends the Report file with those VLOOKUP() formulas, contains the all external links. That is why your Excel not found the Source Data and can stop working. So, before working file make sure that there is no external link (if it is not necessary for you).
To find the external link, there is a very simply way:
- Just press CTRL+F to show the Find dialog box
- Then type .x
- And Click on Find
(8) AntiVirus Softwares/Virus:
As we know that, Few AntiVirus software may crash your system file automatically and disturb others software to run it properly. Or your PC may infected by malware, virus or others. So, clean your PC and test your file.
If something found, then try to fix it. Else you might get a problem.
