How to Export or Import your customized QAT or Ribbons in Excel 2013

Many times it is seen that, MIS Executives need to Export or Import their customized QAT or Ribbon settings because of their Laptop or PC changing. In my case, I've got a new laptop :) with newly installed MS Excel 2013. I have few custom commands in my QAT and also in Ribbon. It is time costing issue to customize them again. So, I've to choose Import them all in my newly installed Excel 2013. But before I do it, I need to do Export QAT or Ribbons first from my old Laptop. So, let's see how in details for you.



Export customized QAT or Ribbons:

Step 1: Open a New MS Excel Workbook in old Laptop.

Step 2: Click on File | Options to open the Excel Options dialog box.

Step 3: Click on Quick Access Toolbar option and Select the Export all customization from Customizations option.

Step 4: After selecting this option, you will see a File Save dialog box. Now locate a location (example: Desktop) and Click on Save button. Make sure that, Save as type is set to Exported Office UI file. This file extension is .exportedUI.

Now you have exported the customized QAT settings in Excel Customizations.exportedUI file in Desktop:

In the same way as said above you can Export from Customize Ribbon option.



Import customized QAT or Ribbons:

Step 1: Open a New MS Excel Workbook in your new Laptop. In my case I'm showing in below image my fresh Excel QAT where no Custom QAT added:

Step 2: Click on File | Options to open the Excel Options dialog box.

Step 3: Click on Quick Access Toolbar option and Select the Import customization file from Customizations option.

Step 4: After selecting this option, you will see a File Open dialog box. Now locate a location (example: Desktop) and Select the file Excel Customizations.exportedUI and then Click on Open button.

Step 5: This will appear a dialog box asking you for the permission about replacing all the current settings (both QAT and Ribbons) with imported Excel Customizations.exportedUI file. If you are sure, then just Click on Yes button:

Step 6: After clicking on Yes button, your QAT settings will replace with the current settings. In my case it looks like below:

In this way you can Export or Import your QAT or Ribbons in your Excel. Don't afraid about customizing these again. Just use this trick. It will save your lots of time.

Excel VBA Error : Can't find project or library | SOLVED

Problem: Today just few minutes ago, I was going to open an *.xlsm (Microsoft Excel Macro) file. But after open it shows an error message. It says, "Can't find project or library".
